Next generation Clarinux software leads CMR engineered solutions at SMM 2014

A new graphical interface is among the improvements to the next generation Clarinux engine and vessel monitoring software which will feature on the CMR Group booth (Hall B6, Stand 325) at SMM 2014, Hamburg.

Cost effective, intuitive and easy-to-use, the LINUX-based software is Bureau Veritas (BV) classified for marine use and enables analogics or binary data trends to be easily and clearly displayed on a touch screen monitor.

Up to 2000 channels can be controlled and monitored using the software while other enhanced features include selective data acquisition and logging for improved storage, rapid page navigation and faster connectivity between local display units.

Further new features provide control of functions such as pre-lubrication and pre-heating while enhanced engine starting sequencing, pumps/compressor compliance and additional sensor inputs have been incorporated for improved system operator use.

CMR will also be showcasing other advanced electrical and electronic systems for the reliable operation of marine engines and automated monitoring control. These include Integrated Alarm Monitoring and Control Systems (IAMCS) and additional marine solutions such as low voltage /main switchboards, fire detection and CCTV.

The company’s Ethernet network-based Vessel Management System (VMS) provides management of up to 3,000 I/O channels through local specific control systems as well as alarm monitoring and full engine auxiliaries’ control.

CMR systems are manufactured to the highest quality and performance standards and are marine society approved by certifying bodies including Lloyd’s Register (LRS), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), BV, and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

Gérard Baldellou, Marine Division Manager at CMR Group said: “SMM provides the ideal platform for showcasing Clarinux and its performance benefits. I’m sure it will be of huge interest to customers visiting the show looking for added value and advanced solutions.”
